 Although EMS-TENS units use low voltage batteries, there is concern about the electromagnetic transfer through the spinal cord if paired electrodes from a single lead are placed on opposing sides of the spinal column. • It’s not clear how EMS or TENS units affect unborn babies. Pregnant women should avoid using them in regions where an electrical current might transmit to their baby.

• Do NOT place the adhesive electrodes on/or near the heart or across the chest because the introduction of electrical current into the chest may cause rhythm disturbances to the heart.
• The effects of stimulation of the brain are unknown. Therefore, stimulation should not be applied across the head and electrodes should not be placed on opposite sides of the head.
• Electrode pads should only be applied to normal, intact, clean skin. Electrodes should not be applied over open wounds or over swollen, infected or inflamed areas or skin eruptions (e.g. phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, etc.).

It’s not painful, but you might feel a slight tingling or warming sensation where the electrodes meet your skin.

The duration of pain relief after using Zoe™ can vary. Some people report that their pain returns as soon as they switch off the device. Others continue to experience an adequate level of pain relief for up to 24 hours.

• Attach the Gel Pads to the flat, non-curved part of your body. Remember to keep your skin dry and clean.
• Use a few water drops to maintain the viscosity of the Gel Pads.
• If the viscosity of the Gel Pad is low, use a small amount of water to clean it. After drying, it will restore viscosity.
• The Gel Pads need to be replaced when they are unable to recover the viscosity.
